One of my mother’s favorite sayings is, “you’re full of it.” She still says it to this very day. As a child, I can remember jokingly responding, ” full of what?” I think we all knew what she was getting at.
Have you ever looked at your life and wondered, what do others see me full of?
Maybe you are known for your ambition towards your livelihood and producing income? Possibly you are immersed in the world of being a mother and wife, and your life has taken a back seat to the needs of others. You could be young single and believing that you have time to find your way and that this world is yours for the taking. Just maybe you have lived a fully successful life and have worked diligently to now sit back and finally enjoy life to the fullest.
We all fit different criteria. Each of us has experienced highs and lows the same, victories and failures. If you had not noticed, many of the key facets of my life have changed. Possibly you can relate? With change comes to challenge, no doubt but ultimately growth. No matter how the stages of life filter past us, what others will say is the underlying thing that defines you.
This past week as I celebrated my 43rd birthday I really thought about this. The answer is GRACE.
Grace – Unmerited favor.
The grace that I speak of is not one that a human can grant you. It is not leniency that that one can buy. It is truly ours for the taking, and it is neverending.
If my life can be marked by anything, I desire that the overwhelming grace of God mark it.
I wish I could claim these beautiful lyrics as my own. They are from the song ” A Prayer For Grace”, written and so beautiful performed by the amazing and gifted Morgan Harper Nichols. Here is the link to this beautifully poetic song.
So this year as I celebrate another year I celebrate the GRACE that has carried me all along. No matter my missteps, failures, and setbacks The Grace Of God continues to bring to victory in the final outcome AS ALWAYS. ( Jeremiah 29:11).
Despite what I get myself into when I turn my heart to God, trust in Him, and lean not into my own understanding or ways; God has always been faithful and will never stop. His Grace is new for the taking every day. We can go noted for many things we can do on our own. BUT NOTHING SURPASSES WHAT THE GRACE AND GLORY OF GOD CAN DO.
I encourage you today everything we can do in our own ability fails in comparison when you trust in God. He will indeed fill your life with mercy and goodness, and the best witness you can ever provide is when others stand back and say, how did you make it through that. The simple answer? The never-ending love and unfailing Grace Of God.
I want to thank each and every one of you who took the time to wish me a happy birthday. I wrote this post specifially to say thank you and to let you know that each and every message lifted my heart with love and reminded me as I always tell others
” YOU ARE LOVED” .
This site is not even complete as you can see. Almost. And I thank you for your support for over 10 years of writing sharing and connecting with others. It is one of my greatest joys.
Keep connected as within the next week I will fully relaunch this site. I am beyond grateful for all that God has given me including you reading this today.
